Energy Eye

2008 CleanTECH Venture Roundtable Finalist

Energy Eye designs and manufactures energy efficiency technology for increased control of building heating, ventilation & air conditioning systems. The disruptive technology uses low cost sensors to determine occupancy in a HVAC zone and can greatly increase the efficiency of the HVAC by raising or lowering the temperature as needed without compromising the comfort of the occupants.

It's been deployed by hotels but also has applications in residential and other commercial building types. It is unique in its ability to be adaptable to a worldwide market including developing countries and is the lowest cost method to add critical occupancy information to legacy systems in existing buildings that were built as first cost construction.

Energy Eye technologies are creating efficiencies in over 12,500 hotel rooms including most well known hotel chains and distributed in 18 countries. The technology is proven to reduce HVAC consumption between 20% and 70%.

2008 Clean TECH Venture Roundtable Finalists

FinalistClean TECH San Diego partnered with CONNECT to host the Clean TECH Venture Roundtable. This annual event enables a "short list" of local early stage clean technology companies who have passed a rigorous and competitive screening process to pitch their businesses to the investment community. This year, the finalists included an ocean wave renewable energy solution, a wireless control energy efficiency solution for the hospitality sector, a micro-algae biofuels business, a lightweight eco-friendly concrete wall solution and a clean transportation technology for the transit sector. The quality and diversity of these finalists demonstrate that clean tech innovation is thriving in San Diego.
